There is something about SPEED.... its just a different feeling when u r traveling at great Speeds.Probably has to do with the art and joy of Saving Time.Need for Speed...There are so many of us so passionate about bikes,cars,etc....but ultimately its all about Speed isnt it.Knowing that u can get from a place to another in lesser time,and faster than the other person is just .There is a whole industry dedicated to this Craze.F1 is very popular,Moto Gp is also followed closely in various countries.Every year many races are organised in about 15 countries...Not counting the other races that take place.New Machines are being developed every year just to get that little more power.Bikes are common favourite after watching the Moto Gp.Americans are crazy about Nascar...quite frankly what could be exciting about few Cars running round and round for few hrs...Nah but the point is there is something about seeing a Fast Car/Bike go by that gets ur Adrenaline flowing.Its even better when u r in the Car or on the Bike.
Feeling Speed:People are crazy to experience this feeling....some even skydive,bungie jump.etc to experience how it feels to fall at great speeds.There are n number of video games to let us feel of how it would be like to travel at high speeds.....ofcourse it would be nothing like the real thing,i think
Personally:I am not a huge fan of Cars(dont know how to drive/heavy traffic makes me nervous)Bikes i like to some extent....had a hard time learning (with gear ka)but managed after some months....it was an exercise to get the bike started...ne wayz thats another story.I myself havent gone above 100 Kph....not that am not capable but simply becoz of traffic and mediocre roads.But now even Vasai boasts of good roads on some stretches it can be reached but then too its very very risky.I liked my Bicycle more though...used to ride it to coll everyday....it took me exact 6 mins to cover about 3.5 Kms....not much Speed but enjoyed it a lot...had exact judgment even in traffic..(was in an accident once but nothing severe)
What amazes me is how those F1 drivers,Motogp racers react so fast sometimes..its really untrue and the camera angles are amazing(Mirror Neurons at work)....even a tiny alteration in their line/direction when turning can send them crashing since they are so close at times.The cell signalling mechanism will evolve in such people....so that they can better control their machines....Exercise and Fitness plays a part in this sport as much in other sports.
Everyone knows that craze for going faster comes with a price.....and if u overdo it(then u might have to pay the ultimate prize.....
