Concentration

"Concentration implies, first, an ability to release one's mental and emotional energies from all other interests and involvements and, second, an ability to focus them on a single object or state of awareness": from this article from TOI. It outlines how concentration is the most important thing for success. Have come to experience it for sure over the last few months. Somehow am always in disbelief after coming across all the mistakes I have made in a report. Needless to say even with the high levels of concentration I think I have developed I seem to be disturbed/pertubed when scribing hard dictators and end up losing chunks in sentences or adding something totally different. But am always trying to learn for the next report and that is what I tend to like about my job.

Concentration for students, teenagers especially, is really tough. Consider myself lucky enough to have had learned to concentrate during lectures in school/college but isnt luck just another word for a concentrated mind. The mind is generally often fickle with many ways to trick itself hence its very hard to concentrate on any task undertaken. Most probably the most important aspect of education is developing right concentration apart from the knowledge gained and then developing concentration to higher levels through the years.

Hoping the great man gets his 100th very soon coz he has reached those high levels of concentration on so many ocassions.
